Breast Implant Removal – What You Need to Know

According to some studies and research, a good portion of women who had Breast Augmentation Surgery also had Breast Implant Removal Surgery. Breast implant removal is also called explantation and is performed to decrease the size and volume of a woman’s breasts or to make room for new breast implants.

There are certain reasons why women have to undergo breast implant removal procedure. Some of them are the following:

  •     To change the contour and size of the implants.
  •     The implants have ruptured, leaked or deflated.

Detection of breast cancer also requires this surgical procedure.

One has to remember that this surgery will affect you physically and may affect you psychologically. However, if your health is at risk, it is wise to consider this procedure before you think about your physical appearance.
