Understanding Narconon History

Alcohol is a substance that has long been used for social purposes, but if that usage turns to abuse then it’s a substance that can turn dangerous. Over the years many people have suffered from these dangerous alcohol effects – effects that can range from something as seemingly harmless as repetitive hangovers to something as serious as a fatal car accident. The abuse of alcohol has disrupted so many lives, and many people have tried their hand in solving the problem. Fortunately, it’s a problem that can be solved with the help of the right rehabilitation program.

The Narconon Program is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that has helped thousands of people recover from addiction. Through this program many people have been able to let go of their dependence on drugs and alcohol, effectively turning their lives around. Understanding why the program is so effective will require a bit of Narconon History. Narconon was founded and established way back in 1966, by former inmate and narcotics addict William C. Benitez. When he was in the process of turning his life around, he bumped into a book written by L. Ron Hubbard – “The Fundamentals of Thought.” He applied the life-changing principles of the book to his own life and noticed changes. He then helped a small trial group change their lives as well, and this was how Narconon was born. From these humble beginnings the Narconon system is now being applied in many rehabilitation centers across the country, helping countless addicts regain the lives they’ve almost lost.
